Hoarding Typography: Chris Bracey

One heavily appreciated area of typography is signage, and a large collection of signage belongs in God's Own Junkyard. God's Own Junkyard is a gallery in London with the largest collection of neon signs, salvaged props, art work, and light sculptures, collected--and for some pieces originally created--by artist Chris Bracey.
Bracey would work on commissions for films, such as "Mona Lise Smile", "Eyes Wide Shut", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", and so on. After films would finish, all these pieces would be scrapped.
Bracey decided to start collecting them 25 years ago.

An article featuring his work, and describing how he named his collection can be found here, as well as a short film featuring Bracey.

Below are some of the examples of his collections, as well as his original idea for "Girls Girls Girls".

Each sign can be appreciated for their use of colors and style. A lot of them remind one of gaudy flashy areas of a town, or just a whole town in general (personally, I think of Las Vegas or Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet).

Bracey's work is fun, and his collection overflows and catches your eye in every corner.
